:: Ingredients for Mutton with Yogurt / Dahi Mutton
Lamb- 1 lb
Red chilies- 5
Coriander seeds- 1 tsp
Black peppercorns- 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon- 1 stick
Cloves- 2
Green cardamoms- 2
Grated ginger- 1 inch piece
Crushed Garlic- 3 cloves
Large onions- 2 (finely chopped)
Plain yoghurt- 1 cup
Salt to taste
Fenugreek seeds- 1/8 tsp
Oil- 4 tablespoons
:: How to make Mutton with Yogurt / Dahi Mutton
A bunch of chopped cilantro (coriander) leaves
Grind the ingredients 2-8 together to make a paste.
Heat the oil in a pan and fry the fenugreek seeds and
onions until the onions are
golden. Add the mutton pieces fry for 10 minutes over low
heat. Add the ground
spice paste and fry for 5 more minutes. Then pour the
beaten yoghurt & add salt
to taste. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes. Pour 2 cups of
water. Cover the pan
and cook until the lamb is tender and the gravy is thick.
Serve garnished with
chopped coriander leaves.
